How to remove your lower controlarm bushing without welding & a shop press

Yes, there is a way to remove those pesky bushings, without a welder and a shop press. You need a jigsaw, electric or pneumatic, with a long enough blade to saw the whole bushing, lenght wise. And a little chisel to remove a strip of metal and to get the bushing out of the control arm.

Time to get your hands dirty

Here you see the tools you need. Two chisels, one for metal and an old wood chisel. The electric jigsaw with a long blade. And a pliers (not in picture) to get the bush out of the control arm.

You have to make two saw kerfs into the bush. Not to far of each other. Just far enough, to fit a small chisel between them.
Here you see the small strip already loose after a couple of strikes with the small chisel. It's still connected to the bush, so you have to wiggle the strip to get it loose.

After wiggling the strip, it's loose from the bush.

Now you have to take your metal chisel to get the rest of the bush out. After a couple of firm hits on/with the chisel, the bush is comming out of the control arm. Just enough to grap it with a pliers.

And here it is.

Just to let you see how a bush looks after hitting it a couple of hours. And still not comming loose!
Only after I've done it as described above, it came out...
